On Friday last week, Year 4 were presented with an exciting problem, ‘The Great Bird Race’. To solve this problem, the children were given a number of clues to help them place the 9 birds in order of finishing. To be successful, they had to work collaboratively to solve the clues and use logical reasoning, collaboration and systematic methods. Everyone got stuck in and it lead to a really exciting and successful maths lesson. We learnt that we don’t always have to get the right answers to learn something and that it is okay to make mistakes.
