Our under 11 football team played in the AFC Bournemouth Community Cup on Tuesday 28th February, aiming to be the top Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch school to represent AFC Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

This premier league competition is the equivalent of the FA kids cup that we were successful with in 2014 and 2015.

The boys managed to get through their group in the morning, qualifying for the quarter finals courtesy of goals from Ian.

However, in the quarter finals, we played the Epiphany school, who were a strong team. The boys found themselves 3-0 down at half time, and after a stern talking to (and a reminder of how brilliant they all were), we came out fighting in the second half. Sam scored, then Sam scored again, and despite dominating the whole 2nd half, it wasn’t to be.

So, sadly, that was the end of our adventure.  Today’s lesson was a good one….. believe in yourselves.  We are all proud of you!

A big thank you to the parents that came and shared in the drama!  Always a noisy credit to our Academy!
