During Science Week, Year 6 were lucky enough to have a trip to Bournemouth School for Girls to experience using a secondary science lab. The highlight of the afternoon was watching a lamb’s heart dissection which, despite one or two ‘ew’ moments, we all thoroughly enjoyed ! The children were enthralled seeing the chambers and blood vessels and all the other components and make-up of the heart. Having been reassured that BSG only uses organs of animals which are killed for meat (which would otherwise go to waste) we were able to really make the most of this biological experience. All helped by a nice drink and biscuit to calm us all down afterwards!
