Cross country running is not for the faint hearted, and we have been extremely impressed with the perseverance and determination from all our runners in the Cross Country League this year. They have been out running in the snow, wind, rain and even (albeit fleetingly) some sun! Each individual runner has made substantial improvements on their placings and they should all be proud of how they have challenged themselves this year.

The cross country season ended with a relay race, consisting of 4 girls and 4 boys per team, running a lap of 1km each. There were around 18 teams competing and St James’ entered two teams into this event, who achieved 4th place and 11th place, with one team narrowly missing out on a trophy.

The overall results were also revealed on Tuesday, where the commitment shown from the runners certainly paid off. Our girls’ team came in 3rd place, and our overall placing was 4th. One individual runner also came 3rd in the girls’ event, beating over 90 girls!

Thank you to all the Cross Country team for your grit and determination this year, and we look forward to more success next year!

Miss Rogers, Miss Buller, Mrs Newman and Mrs Stopler.
