On Friday Reception ventured out for their very first school trip to Moors Valley Country Park. The children loved travelling on the coaches and spent most of the journey pointing out local landmarks and highlights (Tesco caused great excitement!).

When we arrived at Moors Valley we had an exciting guest join us – Martin the storyteller. He told us some magical fairy tales in the woods and taught us some songs with his ukulele. The children were enthralled and we were so proud of how well they listened and joined in. We played in the sand park pretending to be characters from Peter Pan and had a lovely walk around the lake looking for nature and making beautiful nature bracelets.

Lunch was also a highlight and couldn’t come soon enough for some children who had made a beeline for their lunchboxes on the coach at 9:30!

We had a really wonderful day and we were so proud of how the children behaved. We will be doing lots of fairy tale writing and story telling this week to follow on from our magical time at Moors valley.
