On Tuesday 30th October I was extremely privileged to take a group of 11, Year 5 and 6 girls to a football tournament at Littledown. 20 local schools had entered and we were drawn in group A against Muscliff, Elm Academy, Corpus Christi and St Lukes. This was the first ever time these girls had played together, let alone enter a tournament. By the first half of the first game they were showing great promise and had really begun to work together and this only progressed as the tournament continued. Not a single goal was conceded throughout the tournament and we won one game 3-0, another 6-0 and drew two games 0-0 but unfortunately this was not enough to secure top of the group. We finished with 8 points, with the leaders of the group finishing on 10, achieved through 3 wins and 1 draw. I was so proud to take this group of girls, along with Mr Bacon, to the tournament and witness the team work, sportsmanship and resilience. I look forward to many more tournaments and lots more opportunities for growth and success.
