The WW1 Experience Day was a memorable day for the children in year 3. To enable them to have a feel of what school was like during WW1, we set up our own WW1 classroom, and they were given the opportunity to write on slates using chalks.
In the afternoon, we had a range of WW1 games such as: Hopscotch, deerstalker, wooden hops and hoopla. Children set up their own battlefield by making trenches and their challenge was to get from one trench to another without being caught by the enemies.
The children also engaged in other activities such as: knitting, blow football, basic first aid skills, poppy art work and making their own propaganda posters.
