What a busy last half term we had in Year 4! Our project ‘Reinventing the Wheel’ was an exciting opportunity for the children to develop their entrepreneurial skills and we were blown away with the results.
On Wednesday 22nd May we held the ‘Invention Convention’, which was a chance for the children to share their work with parents and visitors from an entrepreneurial background. We welcomed Mr Rose, a product designer, who was amazed by ALL of the inventions and the hard work that went into them all. Following Mr Rose’s visit, we welcomed Jimmy from ‘Jimmy’s Iced Coffee’ into school and again he was truly amazed by the work that the children produced. He spent time with every group and the children especially loved meeting him after writing letters to him.
Our third and final visitor was Mr Isaac, who kickstarted our project off with a fascinating talk about his work with Siemens. Mr Isaac kindly came back into school to see the finished result and presented a group with an awesome prize of the book ‘The Invention of Hugo Cabret’.
In the photos you will see the varied selection of inventions from cleaning robots to communication toys, the children have really demonstrated their incredible imaginations. Look out Dragons’ Den!
