Year 3 had the most amazing time visiting two of the most iconic sites on the Jurassic coastline – Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. They had fantastic weather for the day which enabled them to see along the coastline and out to sea for miles. Year 3 were able to spend the day learning about how the coastline formed over many millions of years and to see the effect of coastal erosion in action. We also learned about the types of rocks that our coastline is built up of and about their properties too. To top it all off, Year 3 walked miles along the clifftops and were even lucky enough to stumble upon some ancient Bronze age burial grounds! It was such a fantastic day out packed full of incredible learning opportunities and experiences for all children.
