Year 3 roamed to Dorchester before half term to visit Dorset County Museum. We we amazed by the outstanding Roman artefact exhibitions and the knowledge of the volunteers there. Throughout the day, we took part in a variety of activities including:
Observing and feeling Roman mosaics excavated from Dorchester.
A tour of the Roman exhibition where we observed a Roman skeleton.
An opportunity to become archaeologists, digging to find precious artefacts.
A visit to an abandoned Roman town house where we were able to learn about how the Romans lived and to see how beautifully decorated the floors were.
We were so grateful for this incredible opportunity which enabled the children to enrich their learning at the end of our project.
