Dazzling Diwali

Year 4 have been experiencing the sounds, smells and tastes of the Hindu festival of Diwali!

We created traditional Diva lamps using clay and brightly coloured paint. The children had to sculpt their clay into a lamp shape and decorate it with Rangoli style patterns and bright colours. The results were stunning.

Then children enjoyed an Indian feast to experience the tastes and smells of India! They happily feasted on a selection of curries, rice, bhajis, samosas and poppadoms. Children then reviewed each food for flavour, smell and textures.

 

Although for some, it was more like a bush tucker trial…
