Year 3 spent a morning before half term immersing themselves in traditional Victorian culture. We began the day by going outside to experience traditional Victorian playground games. We worked in small groups to play games such as; hopscotch, hoop and stick, deer hunter, skipping, hoopla and stuck in the mud. We had a fantastic time enjoying simple, yet fun, playground games.
After play time, we were delighted to taste some traditional Victorian food. We set up Paris class as a banquet hall and sampled food which poor and rich people would have eaten. We were very proud of all of those children who tried something new. We tasted tea cakes, Victoria sponge cake, gruel and tea.
What a fantastic half term of Victorian learning!
