Last week we conducted our half termly fire drill to practice evacuating the building as quickly and safely as possible. As always, the children behaved impeccably, walking silently and sensibly so that we were all lined up and accounted for in just under 4 minutes. As some of our children have a long way to walk from the other side of the school, and the Reception children were doing this for the first time, this was a great result and one that will improve each time we repeat it. The new fencing and gates have also increased the speed at which we can all be registered. Reception got a round of applause from everyone for how well they managed this new challenge, and we will continue to have these periodic drills throughout the year to ensure that we all know what to do if the unthinkable ever happened.
