Year 6 had a brilliant, if slightly chilly time, doing some outdoor learning at the beach as part of our ‘Galapagos’ project. The sun shone and we spent time learning how to classify various types of sea life and use a key to identify them. It was surprising to see the range of sea life that is evident just on one small patch of beach.
Sadly, we didn’t see any Galapagos’ tortoises or penguins but we did make our own models of them as well as building sand models of the Galapagos archipelago. Great to be able to do some outdoor geographical learning and our grateful thanks go to those parent helpers who were able to come along and support us on this trip. Not quite the real Galápagos Islands but the next best thing!
