Last week we had a fantastic day celebrating the 22nd World Book Day. Thank you to all the children and staff who made an awesome effort to come dressed as a word from a book. Enjoy looking through some of the photos that show some of the reading related fun we relished in………..
We met up with our Book Buddies to share our favourite stories.
Mr Dodd and his four legged friend, the lovely Leo enjoyed hearing children read in the library.
We wrote a whole school story which started in Year 6 and ended in Reception. At the end of the day we came together to share the story ‘Tick Tock’ in the hall.
Year 2 enjoyed creating book characters from potatoes.
After school we held a Book Swap which proved to be very popular so we have decided to hold these more regularly!
And the grand finale…………….. was our Books at Bedtime event where the children ( and parents) enjoyed listening to bedtime stories in their PJ’s.
Overall a fun packed day which we hope captured the children’s love of books and reading. Finally, remember….
‘The more that you read,
the more things you will know.
The more that you learn,
the more places you’ll go’
Dr Seuss
