Recently, Year 3 have been improving their measuring skills, working in teams to support each other when measuring the capacity of different objects. On Day 1, the children estimated the volume of typical household objects such as mugs, tupperware pots and cups before then testing to see if their estimate was correct. On Day 2, Year 3 were given instructions on how to make a ‘brew’ for a magician. The magician was very high maintenance and kept instructing Year 3 to add liquid to their mixture and then take some away too! The children had to work out the measurements precisely and choose appropriate measuring vessels for each instruction.
