Year 2 have had the best start to this half term learning all about ‘The Twits’ from the famous Roald Dahl novel. As well as studying the book, Year 2 have taken the opportunity to play some tricks themselves, just like the characters do!

Over the past two weeks, we have:

  • Made ‘wormy’ chocolate crispy cakes and tricked our parents into believing that we were actually eating worms!
  • Completed a detailed drawing of Mr Twit in our new art sketch books.
  • Cooked ‘squiggly’ spaghetti where we cut ham into the shape of worms.

Year 2 have thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to practise their cookery skills and we have been so impressed with the way in which they have shared the food equally amongst the other other children on their table.

We cannot wait to start our next Roald Dahl novel, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. I wonder what the focus of our learning will be on next…
