Well, what a first four days we had here at our Virtual School.  The children have been an absolute credit to our community and have responded so well to the tasks they have been set.  Us teachers have absolutely loved speaking to you all on the phone and it has been so lovely to see the work you have been sending back to us.  We have also been hearing about all of the great things that have been going on in our physical school, so well done to all of those children too.

On that note, we have really enjoyed reading your responses to the David Walliams task that was set for everyone last week.  This was a bit of an experiment for us, as it is the first time we have set a similar across the school and we have been delighted with how well it has worked.  For those who don’t know, David Walliams has been reading one story per day from his brilliant book ‘The Worlds Worst Children’.  He has done this so children who are at home and still at school alike can listen to it through his website, which is a lovely idea.  From this, year groups and classes at our physical school were assigned tasks of a similar nature involving today’s story, from book reviews and recommendations to even designed their own world’s worst child!

Some of the feedback we have received is that siblings of different ages have worked together on the tasks and I know some children have been communicating with their friends about the story, which is so lovely to hear.  It has inspired us here at the Virtual School to think how we could potentially do more whole school virtual projects, so watch this space…

We hope you enjoy looking through these photos as much as us teachers have!
