Fee-fi-fo-fum…

Fee-fi-fo-fum, I smell the brilliance of Year 1 …

Year 1’s Tale from the Treehouse was ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and my goodness have we been impressed with the responses we have had!

We have loved seeing the children work alongside their families to produce pieces of artwork, but we have also been impressed seeing their independence flourish as they have tackled our various learning tasks.

One learning task has been to hunt for different wild plants when going out for a walk…sadly nobody found a magic beanstalk leading to a magical land and a castle in the clouds. Maybe next time?

Whilst we are learning about plants we asked the children to design their own dream gardens and we have had swimming pools, fairy doors, fruit trees, rainbow pathways, ice cream vans and even real-life animals included in their designs.

So when Year 1 weren’t busy creating artwork or designing gardens, they had a go at writing what they would find at the top of the beanstalk…

The children have also been busy learning about multiplication and division…

Phew! What a busy week! We are feeling very lucky teachers to have such creative, imaginative and enthusiastic children. We are so grateful for all the hard work from the children and parents and cannot wait to see what next week brings!
