Last week, Year 2 loved the theme of ‘Can you hear me?’, giving us all the opportunity to look at how we communicate with others. This seems especially important at the moment when we can’t all be together in the same way as we are used to or would like to. Here are some pictures of just some of the things Year 2 got up to:
On Monday we cracked a coded message that Copper had found and had a go at coming up with our own secret codes, including a key!
We even did some coded Maths!
We then thought about the people we can’t see at the moment and how we could reach out to them. So we wrote postcards and even sent virtual hugs! Some of us wanted to write to friends to let them know how much we are missing them.
And some of us wanted to write to family and let them know all about what we have been up to in lockdown.
No matter who we wrote to, we all wanted to send lots of virtual hugs!
We learnt about how to be SMART online and be kind to others. Some of us even made informative posters.
We’ve dabbled in some French, learning some colours:
And even had a go learning the alphabet in sign language, signing our names and doing Signalong to songs:
All in all, it was another wonderful week for Year 2. It was particularly nice to think about how we communicate in different ways and why it is so important. Well done Year 2 for all your hard work!
