This term Year 2 have been studying, exploring and experiencing Mexico. We have had a wonderful, creative time looking at the History, Geography and culture of such a vibrant and colourful country. During this term we have had not one, but two Mexican fiestas including Cinco de Mayo on the 5th of May and then our outcome on the 27th of May. It is fair to say we have had a blast! Here is a taster of some of the amazing things we have been up to:

We sculpted and painted clay pinch pots inspired by Talavera pottery.

Señor Diego and Señor Pablo came to visit us on Cinco de Mayo to host a chilli eating competition!

We also made our very own mariachi bands equipped with our junk modelling instruments.

We were busy designing, creating and evaluating our very own pinatas before having a swing at some made for each class!

That wasn’t the last we saw of Señor Diego and Señor Pablo, oh no! They came in to visit us again but this time in Ready, Steady, Cook fashion demonstrating how to prepare salsa for nachos and cook tortillas from scratch! We even got to try the dishes and then wrote down our favourite recipes to have a go at making again at home.

We hope you enjoyed seeing just some of the amazing experiences we have had during our project all about Mexico!

Adios Amigos!
