Happy new year!

We are sure that 2022 will be full of exciting adventures for the all of the St. James’ family and we are full of anticipation for the year ahead.  We cannot wait to see all the children achieve great things this year…

Speaking of great things, on Wednesday the staff kicked off the new year with a brilliant INSET, returning from the Christmas break ready to go!  Part of the day was dedicated to planning new projects for the year ahead (watch this space…) and we also began the year by coming together for a socially distant worship in the church.  Worship forms a crucial part of who we are at St. James’ and it was lovely to have a moment of reflection as the new term begins, thanking God for the new opportunities ahead of us this year.

We then did something a little bit different!  Our task began by us throwing numerous tennis balls to one another, discussing ideas for the year ahead.  These tennis balls soon progressed to a rather large beachball, which required us to be working in smaller teams.  Lo and behold, before we knew it, huge great inflatable ball had dwarfed the playground and meant that a lot of teamwork was needed in order to pass it around!  Not only was this great fun and provided a lot of laughter, it also showed the importance of working together and how something little can grow and grow (and grow!).

The INSET really has set us up for a wonderful term ahead and we all start 2022 full of positivity, ready to take on the world!
