Last week, St. James’ were very lucky to be able to welcome Lucy into worship, who told us all about ‘Child of Hope’ in Uganda. Child of Hope is a Christian charity based in Namatala slum near Mbale, where they have built a nursery, primary and secondary school providing free education and giving children the opportunity to help lift their families out of poverty. The children listened brilliantly in worship and asked some excellent questions. This charity is particularly special to Mrs. Clark because it was founded and is run by a member of her family.

Following worship, Lucy kindly answered some more questions in Year 5 and told us all about life in Uganda. After speaking to Lucy, the children were inspired to write a letter to a child in Uganda; they told them about themselves, their likes/dislikes and all about our school here in the UK. Lucy has kindly agreed to take our letters with her on her return to Uganda next week and Y5 are thoroughly looking forward to their replies!

… and here are our Child of Hope friends receiving our letters!
