On Thursday 6th October, Year 4 celebrated National Poetry Day. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about performance poetry and as the sun was shining, we took our learning outside to practise performing the poem ‘ One Broken Planet’, with a partner. We focused on controlling the speed of our reading for clarity and effect, used expression to emphasise key parts of the poem and used gestures and actions to help show the poems meaning.
The following day, we creatively wrote our own poems based around the theme of the environment. Take a look at what some of our poets created…
We loved going to see our friends in Tadpole and Duckling Class to perform our poems.
