This term our topic is ‘Revolution’ and for the last few weeks, Year 3 have been reading the story of Oliver Twist. The children have absolutely loved this book and have been completely immersed in the Industrial Revolution era. We have learned about what life must have been like for children during the Industrial Revolution and how Britain has changed since then.

In English, the children have written character descriptions, diary entries and playscripts all involving Oliver. Today the children performed the scene from Oliver where he asks Mr Bumble for more food. Our rooms were full of furious Mr Bumble’s and terrified Oliver Twist’s.

Here are some pictures from our very dramatic morning!
