Year 4 Victorian Ventures to Hooke Court

Year 4 visit Hooke Court.

What a fantastic few days Year 4 had at Hooke Court!

During our stay, the children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in lots of activities. From exploring the grounds, and looking at the Victorian features of the main house as well as playing in the park or taking part in a game of football despite it being rather muddy!

On the second day, we all dressed as Victorians and were truly ‘taken back in time’

We were able to discover and explore Victorian life!  We enjoyed baking Victorian cakes and biscuits, life in a Victorian classroom, as well as looking at artefacts from that era. The children enjoyed trying Victorian crafts such as cross stich and making decoupage boxes. In our Victorian banquet meal, several children were chosen as servants and did a splendid job of serving us all.

A highlight of the trip for many of the children was the enchanting campfire where we were shown some magic tricks and learnt many fun songs and raps.

On our final day, after room inspections and packing our things, we enjoyed participating in team building games involving lots of problem solving.

Our visit was a huge success. We are so proud of everyone’s behaviour and enthusiasm to participate in all the wonderful activities the staff prepared for us. The children did us proud with members of Hooke Court staff commenting on how amazing all the children were during their visit.

We hope that the memories forged during this trip will be cherished forever.
