Year 4 Viking Day!
Year 4 had a fantastic Viking day this week which involved a whole range of activities! Although the weather was not suited to the Vikings, we still enjoyed a fabulous day!
Throughout the day the children completed a variety of activities testing each area of the curriculum!
We created clay runestones and detailed them using the Viking alphabet. We then watched a step by step video of how to draw a Viking longship - it is safe to say we have quite a few budding artists! Using the Viking alphabet again, the children wrote letters for someone to find in the future.
We then spent the afternoon enjoying some more physical activities that the Vikings would have completed like practising our archery skills and playing capture the treasure!
We finished our day with a traditional Viking feast, in which the children enjoyed tasting apples, raisins, ham, cheese, pitta bread and apple juice.
All in all, the children had a brilliant day and some even said it was better than Hooke Court! Who would have thought Hooke Court could be topped?!
