Eco Club- Autumn News!

Our amazing 'St James’ Planet Protectors' have been hard at work this term, both in the forest school garden and in the classroom!
Since September, this enthusiastic group has been bursting with ideas on how to make our school and our local area a greener, more beautiful place. Their passion, creativity, and knowledge have truly amazed us!
Out in the garden, the children have been busy exploring, creating, and caring for nature. They’ve made wonderful nature-inspired art and built simple bug hotels to give our tiny insect friends a cosy home. With Mr Dodd’s expert help, the team also planted wild garlic and daffodil bulbs. We can’t wait to see a sea of colour bloom in spring!

The children have also turned into budding scientists, conducting some weather research. Using thermometers, they compared ground temperatures in different parts of the garden, and a windspeed gadget helped them measure the breeze- science in action!
As the days get shorter and the chill (and rain!) of autumn sets in, our eco-heroes are moving indoors for some creative new projects. This week, they’ve been designing eye-catching posters to remind everyone about the importance of recycling and taking care of our planet.

We’re so proud of their enthusiasm and can’t wait to see what eco-adventures they’ll take on next!
