Year 2
Week Beginning 12th October 2026
This week on Monday (12th) we have our individual school photos. Please make sure your child comes into school dressed in school uniform. If they have a club, they will be able to get changed later on.
We also have Survival Day on Wednesday (14th). Your child would may come dressed as an explorer for the day if they wish to.
Nile class continue their Forest School sessions on Tuesday this week. Please remember to send your child into school in their PE kit on Tuesday for the next 2 weeks.
This year, instead of Parent Information Evenings, we have made a welcome video.
Learning this week:
English - We will continue our unit on fact files and focus on learning and writing facts about the different areas of Poole
Maths - We will move on to fact families and number bonds to 100
Geography - We will be looking at Brownsea Island
PE - We will continue our unit on fundamentals by understanding how we change direction and dodge.
Computing - We will continue our unit on coding
RE - We will be recapping our learning all about The Gospel

Key Dates and Information
PE days in Year 2 are Fridays - please remember to send your child into school every Friday in their PE kit.
Nile Forest School - Tuesday 6th October, Tuesday 13th October, Tuesday 20th October
Monday 12th October - Fraser Portrait Photos
Wednesday 14th October - Year 2 and Year 4 Survival Day (your child can come dressed as an explorer if they wish)
Friday 23rd October - Break up at 3:00pm for October Half Term
