Year 2
Week Beginning 7th September 2026
It was lovely to welcome the children back into school last week and settle them back into school life with a few expectations for the year and team building activities too!
We look forward to the children beginning their class name project this week where they will be learning more about the Amazon and Nile rivers. The children will also be completing some fact facts about their learning completed through the week.
Learning this week:
English - We will be researching about our class names before writing fact files full of interesting information!
Maths - We will begin our first unit on place value, focusing on using a place value chart and partitioning numbers into tens and ones.
PSHE - We will be understanding what makes a good friend and the qualities they have.
Computing - We will begin our computing unit by completing an E-Safety unit to remind us how to stay safe online.
Art - We will be looking at how primary colours are used to make secondary colours
Phonics - We will be revisiting our phonics understanding from Year 1
Worship Theme This Week:
Our worship theme this week is: You are special
"I praise you, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Psalm 139:14
