Dorset Fire and Rescue visit EYFS

EYFS had a visit from Dorset Fire and Rescue.
Our EYFS children had a very special visit from Dorset Fire and Rescue. The children were full of excitement as they learnt all about fire safety and the important job that firefighters do.
We learnt how important it is to test our fire alarms regularly to help keep everyone safe. The firefighters also taught us a very important phrase: “Get out, stay out, and call 999” – now we know exactly what to do if there’s ever a fire.
The children loved helping to retell a story about a dragon who was invited home for dinner... but accidentally caused a fire by sneezing!
To finish the session, we practiced crawling under ‘smoke’ to understand how smoke rises and how we can stay safe by staying low.
A big thank you to Dorset Fire and Rescue for such an engaging and important visit!
