Week Beginning 3rd November

And just like that... term one over and out!  Year 6 have been a complete pleasure to work with and have started the year fabulously.  We hope you all have a lovely half term!

Curriculum news

In maths, we will be learning about calculation methods.

In historywe will be piecing together the chronology of World War 2.

In science, we will be learning about electricity.

In DT, we will learning about textiles and the Wartime motto of 'make do and mend',

In computing, we will be blogging.

 

My Maths

The My Maths tasks for this term are as follows: Negative numbers in context, Negative numbers 2, Very big numbers, Rounding and accuracy, Place value beyond 10,000, Addition and subtraction problems and Order of operations.

Maths

Remember, MyMaths tasks will be set each week as identified in the weekly web update.  Please ensure that you do the tasks set for the week.  Remember, you also have access to Timetables Rockstars, too.

Remember, the Maths exam is split into three; one arithmetic paper and two reasoning papers.  The arithmetic paper is more calculation based, whereas the reasoning focusses more on the application of these skills.
