During the summer term, Eco-Club worked with a local charity, Soroptimist International Bournemouth on a project called, 'Bee Friendly!'. We worked together to create a bee-friendly garden within our school grounds. The children spent time learning all about why bees are so important for the environment, planted flowers to attract bees, created homes for solitary bees and much more! 

With the help of our lovely volunteers, we planted seedlings including cornflowers, nigella, sweet peas, sunflowers and lavender and spent time tending to them during our meetings. The children loved seeing the flowers grow and were so excited when they saw a bee buzzing around our garden! 

We loved being part of this project and working with Soroptimist International Bournemouth. We hope to work with them again this academic year and encourage more wildlife into our school grounds.
