Brilliant Bugs and Beasts!

EYFS have been enjoying learning about lots of different animals and bugs.

Our EYFS children have been having a fantastic time exploring our topic: Brilliant Bugs and Beasts! This week has been full of excitement, curiosity, and hands-on learning.

We were very lucky to have two class members bring in some incredible creatures. One child brought in their stick insects, and we learnt lots of amazing facts – like how they camouflage to hide in their environment. Some of us were even brave enough to hold one!

Another child brought in a blue-black bird-eating spider from Peru. We were fascinated to see how big it was, and we all enjoyed observing it closely and asking questions.

Adding to the excitement, our caterpillars have arrived! We can’t wait to watch them grow and change. We’ve been learning about the life cycle of a caterpillar, and we’ve also enjoyed retelling the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar together.

It’s been a wonderful week of exploring, discovering, and learning more about the brilliant bugs and beasts all around us!
