Year 6's Galapagos Travels!

Year 6 have been very busy creating some Galapagos travel leaflets in English lessons.

This week, Year 6 have set sails to the Galapagos Islands and, what's more, they want you to join them!  They have been studying persuasive writing techniques to entice their audience into visiting the famous archipelago and have produced fascinating travel brochures advertising the islands.

There has been some brilliant learning in order to be able to do this, including studying a range of different examples of travel writing (we loved Bill Bryson's guide to Bournemouth!), researching the Galapagos Islands and carefully planning the structure of their leaflets.  The children were tasked to include the following:

- An enticing introduction

- How to get to the islands

- Wildlife and habitats

- History of the islands

- Things to do

- General information

- A summary to end

As you can see from our gallery, there were smiles throughout and the children have produced some incredible work that they are all very proud of (as are we!).  Well done, Year 6!
